HLBS Law opened it’s doors in Westminster, Colorado in late 2017. Prior to opening, Owen Harnett used to work in the industry as an attorney with AdvisorLaw where he oversaw the legal department, handled arbitration in FINRA, and reported directly to the CEO for budgeting. In this experience, Harnett discovered a niche area of law that needed more help.
He put together a law firm that would service the needs of financial advisors in state court. Getting the firm started involved finding the proper location, securing appropriate filings with the IRS and Secretary of State, and building a strong network to get the word out.
